Dr. Andreas A. Papandreou

Director of the Political Economy of Sustainable Development Lab

Dr. Andreas A. Papandreou, is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department of the University of Athens. He received his B.Sc. in Economics from the University of London, Queen Mary College and his M.Sc. in Economics from London School of Economics. He became a Doctor of Philosophy at Merton College, Oxford University, in 1990. Dr. Papandreou has 26 years of academic experience in various Universities, including University College London and Harvard. His research and published work are mostly in the fields of environmental economics, institutional economics, political economy and welfare economics. Among his publications are "Externality and Institutions" (1998) Oxford University Press. He is alternate Head of the Department of Economics and Director of the Section of Political Economy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is a Research Associate of the International Center of Research on the Environment and the Economy (ICRE8) and Director of the newly established Political Economy of Sustainable Development Lab at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Dr. Vasileios Vlaseros

Director of A.B.E.E.S.S. Lab 

Dr. Vasileios Vlaseros graduated from Athens University with a Ptychion in Mathematics, an MSc in Applied Mathematics and  an MPhil in Economics. He has worked for five years as an OTC derivatives trader and a syndicated bond loan officer for the  National Bank of Greece. He was awarded a PhD in Economics from the University of Edinburgh on July 2014, for his thesis entitled: "Essays on Strategic Voting and Political Influence". His main interests lie within the fields of Experimental Economics, Game Theory, Political Economy & Political Philosophy. He is currently working on Strategic Voting.

Dr. Pantelis P. Analytis

Dr Pantelis Pipergias Analytis graduated from the University of Athens with a first degree in Economics and earned a MSc in Law and Economics from University of Hamburg and an MSc in Cognitive Science from the EHESS in Paris. He was awarded a PhD in Psychology from Humboldt University in June 2015 and worked for several years as a pre-doctoral and post-doctoral at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. In his research, Pantelis develops mathematical and computational models of individual and aggregate level behavior and uses experiments and large-scale simulations to assess their prescriptive and descriptive value. As of July 2016, he will be a post-doctoral researcher at the Information Science department at Cornell University. In the past, he has been a visiting researcher at Columbia University, University College London and the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
